Leica VT1000S

The Leica VT1000 S vibrating blade microtome is the instrument of choice for high-quality sectioning requirements in neurophysiology, neuropathology experimental pathology, Botany (roots and plants) and Industry (foams). 5 different amplitude settings from 0.2 - 1 mm. Linear sectioning speed adjustment from 0.025 mm - 2.5 mm.

AO 860 American Optical

The original heavy duty manual sliding microtome. Cutting thickness is adjustable from 1 to 40 microns using the automatic advance mechanism. The unit is mounted on a large wood base for stability. A crank, geared to the 1/2″ diameter feed screw, allows the specimen to be moved, up to or away from, the cutting position quickly. The universal specimen holder allows X-Y orientation and manual advance and retraction.

Leica SM2500

The Leica SM2500 large-scale, heavy-duty sectioning system is the standard microtome for sectioning hard and/or large-surface specimens.

Large specimens up to 250 x 200 mm and hard materials such as bones and teeth embedded in methyl-methacrylate can be sectioned. Typical medical research applications include the sectioning of whole organs such as brain or lung embedded in paraffin.

Leica CM3050S

Featuring twin compressors, the Leica CM 3050S unit is a heavy duty cryostat for the Research lab. The precise specimen orientation and the specimen feed system guarantees reproducible, thin, serial sections of maximum quality. Object cooling is available on most models.
